COVID-19
An innovative pedagogical proposal was developed with a focus on teenagers that included learning experiences and content contextualized to COVID-19’s social and economic impacts. We responded to COVID-19 with the following educational strategies, in alliance with our allies:
Advised on a digital strategy update in response to COVID-19 with a focus on preventing childhood violence. Co-created digital content for social media, infographics, posters, and audiovisual content, policy briefs and editorial content.
Social Media
Salida Segura
In times of COVID-19, Quechua-speaking children and teenagers should follow these guidelines. ‘Salida segura’ provides visual communication pieces to help prepare: How to prepare to go out? What to do when you leave and when you return? Information is provided to protect their health in a timely manner.

#RadarCOVID19
There were 119 teenagers, boys, and girls who died from COVID-19, proving that they aren’t invincible. During the period of August 22 to 29, 7 deaths and 4,265 infections have been recorded. 33,900 children and adolescents have been infected. This last week saw the highest number of infections to date. A further 44% of the infected live in Lima, the region with the highest number.
It is important to insist on the requirement of child protection systems to limit the number of infections and deaths, and we appeal to both local and national authorities in this regard.
Protección contra la trata
We can follow some recommendations to protect ourselves from recruiters. A social network is one of the ways of recruiting, so it is important to use them responsibly. You should not accept suspicious offers, and you should report the situation to line 1818.
Cuarentena libre de violencia
It has been reported that 62 minors have been raped and 7 women have been killed during the COVID-19 quarantine. It is estimated that 60% of femicides occur at home in Peru, so staying at home is a risk for women and girls. COVID-19 emergency measures include addressing violence against girls and women.
Care for victims of violence must be provided immediately during the COVID-19 health emergency. Additionally, face-to-face procedures are not necessary; instead, virtual and/or telephone methods will be used.
Factores de riesgo
Human trafficking can affect girls, boys, and teenagers of all ages. There are, however, factors that make them more vulnerable to potential traffickers.
Educational materials and Policy Briefs
Soporte a la estrategia “Aprendo en casa” del MINEDU
The government’s virtual teaching strategy has been implemented since the beginning, and because of the vast inequality gaps that girls, boys and teenagers experience –especially in rural areas—our allied organizations have developed tutorials to help them get used to it.
Contenido Editorial
Terre des Hommes Suisse shares the stories of the teenagers who participate in its Peru projects about COVID 19 and how it impacts their lives. They also develop new pedagogical strategies that allow us to adjust the way we work with teachers to find quick and efficient solutions to the difficulties they face.
